Some Things You Should Know About Renting

RENTAL RATES

 

All rental rates are subject to change without notice. Rental rates are set by the Company and once entered on a legal contract shall not be altered or changed except by written agreement accepted by both parties to the contract.

FREE TIME

 

We charge for all time out, including Saturday, Sunday and any Holiday that the equipment is in your possession. No free time will be allowed unless a problem with the equipment is reported to the Company at the time of the event (WITHIN ONE (1) HOUR).

EMERGENCY SERVICE

 

Is available 24 hours-a-day, to include weekends and Holidays. Refer to your rental contract for the emergency service phone number or visit our Branch Locations page.

SHIFT RATES

 

All rental rates are based on a standard shift of 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week and 160 hours per month. Double shifts will be charged at 1.5 times the normal rate and triple shifts will be charged at 2 times the normal rate. You must inform the Company on any additional shift usage. Should we become aware of additional shift usage during the contract period, you will be subject to additional charges.

DELIVERY AND PICKUP

 

Charges for delivery and pickup vary according to size and weight of the equipment and the distance from our office. Call the dispatcher for a quotation for delivery and/or pickup. NO ASSUMPTION IS MADE AS TO TIME OF PICKUP, YOU MUST CALL THE DISPATCHER TO ARRANGE FOR PICKUP OF ANY EQUIPMENT.

FUEL

 

All equipment fuel tanks are full when leaving the Company premises. All fuel tanks will be topped off upon return. We charge for all fuel used.

TIRE MAINTENANCE

 

Lessee is responsible for any tire damage. Lessee must schedule all repairs with a tire repair company of his choice and pay for all repairs to tires. We do not repair tires..

MINIMUM RATE   Minimum rental period is 4 hours. Must be returned within 4 hours from time out.
DAY RATE   A one day rental consist of 24 consecutive hours or 8 hours on equipment with hour meters which ever comes first. Weekend exception - see below.
WEEK RATE   A week rental consist of 7 consecutive days or a portion thereof as determined by the Company or 40 hours on equipment with hour meters which ever comes first.
4-WEEK RATE   A 4-week rental consist of 28 consecutive days (4 weeks) or a portion thereof as determined by the Company or 160 hours on equipment with hour meters which ever comes first.
SPECIAL WEEKEND RATE *   A weekend rate begins at 12:00 noon on Friday and ends at 10:00 a.m. the following Monday (or our next normal business day after a Holiday) or 10 hours or less on equipment with hour meters which ever comes first.

* Equipment returned outside the established weekend time frame is subject to additional charges. If equipment is not returned within the specified time, rental charges will be calculated based on the actual time the equipment was in the possession of Lessee or time as recorded on the hour meter.
RETURN EQUIPMENT PROMPTLY!


OIL LEVELS   Maintenance of proper oil level in rented equipment is the responsibility of the Lessee.
FUELS   It is the responsibility of the Lessee to provide all fuel for the equipment rented. Fuel tanks are always full when leaving our premises. Tanks will be topped off upon return and fuel charges added to the rental contract.
UNUSUAL WEAR OR DAMAGE   All equipment will be examined upon return. Charges will be made for any unusual wear or damage at the rate of $40 per hour labor, plus parts.
TIRES   The Lessee is responsible for all tire damage or flats.
EXCESSIVE CLEANING CHARGE   Minimum charge of $17.50 for cleaning of unusually dirty equipment. Lessee may clean the equipment prior to return or agree to cleaning charges added to rental contract.


INSURANCE   Once the equipment leaves Knox-Tenn's possession, the Lessee is completely responsible for it, until we either pick it up or Lessee returns it and is issued a return receipt. Knox-Tenn's insurance does not cover any equipment while it is in Lessee's possession. Lessee's phone call to our dispatcher requesting pick-up, does not terminate the security or the rental contract on the equipment rented. In the case of damage, loss, or theft, the Lessee will be responsible for either replacement of the equipment with identical equipment, or payment of full list price. In either case rental charges will continue until the equipment is replaced or reimbursement is made to Knox-Tenn Rental & Sales Company in full. No insurance, sales or use taxes are included in published rates.
E.P.P.   Knox-Tenn does offer an Equipment Protection Plan which, for a fee can be added to the rental contract. Contact the branch nearest you for complete details.
